For many of us, both male and female, we begin to develop oily skin sometime during puberty and for some of us we live with the oil skin into our adult life. It feels as if we are fighting a loosing battle.  Of course, those pesky things tend to show up at the worst time possible.  Additionally, they show up in the worst places possible.  They also can not be the little zit they can be covered with makeup, it has to be one of those great big ones that seems to shout, Look at Me.

As teens your can be very conscious of the blackheads and zits and how they look.  We are willing to try just about anything to get rid of these unsightly things on our face.  In the process we sometimes do more damage than good.  Did you know that over washing and scrubbing to briskly could actually irritate the acne?  Instead of using a washcloth try using your bare hands and only washing twice a day.  It is the oil is your skin and not dirt that causes the acne.

Blackheads occur when oil and bacteria become exposed to the skin's surface.  The worst part about blackheads is that they can last for a long amount of time and they can eventually lead to zits.

Popping and squeezing the blackheads and zits is not a good idea.  It will often just irritate the skin more and break blood vessels which look just as bad as the zits themselves.  Try and always be gentle with your skin.  This will benefit you as time goes by.

Do not let having blackheads and zits get your down.  There are skin care programs that can help you get control of your blackheads and zits.  It will not be long before you have beautiful clear skin.
